William Johnson III is a Senior Project Architect with over 25 years of professional experience.  He graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University on a full ROTC scholarship with a 5-year Bachelor of Architecture professional degree. While active in the US Army, Bill was deployed to Saudi Arabia & Iraq during the first Gulf War in 1991. Bill rose through the ranks of the US Army applying his skills in engineering, infrastructure, and construction obtaining the rank of Captain 0-3 in the US Army – Corps of Engineers. Following his honorable discharge from military service, Bill continued his professional career in architecture working in multiple firms within the region designing, documenting, specifying, and overseeing the construction of many high-end residential, commercial and municipal properties from the Jersey Shore to as far away as Wyoming. His excellence as a Project Architect and his architectural design has been recognized with several projects being published in prominent magazines including 3 projects that were awarded the Palladio Award for Residential Architecture in 2002, 2006, and 2012.

Like most architects, Bill has multiple projects underway, including a large garden, at his own home and property in varying levels of development and completion which drives his wife crazy! His largest ongoing project is of course his family and keeping up with all the activities that entails. Bill & his wife Sharon have been married for more than 20 years and have 3 children, two of whom are currently in college. Billy is at Penn College of Technology in Williamsport, PA studying Residential Construction Management [Dean’s List]; he is following in the footsteps of his grandfather and wants to become a General Contractor. Erin is at Penn State University, College Park, studying in the School of Liberal Arts preliminary to applying for Law School following graduation. Collin, the youngest, is in middle school and involved in Cross Country, Track, Travel Soccer, Band and being a teenager. He has consistently achieved “Distinguished Honors” and is very technically oriented but unsure as to what career path he may actually be interested in. Not to be forgotten is the family dog Molly who was rescued from the Delaware County SPCA. She definitely rules the roost!

Bill’s primary interests outside of architecture are: Cooking, travel, History, reading, gardening, carpentry and other DIY projects throughout the house and grounds.
